When you open a new credit card account, the credit card company allows you a grace period. In the grace period the interest rate very low, this period lasts for about 6 months. You can use this period to pay back your debts.

Here you will be paying back much lesser than on the original card as the interest rate is abysmally low. This is the principle behind credit card balance transfer.

To transfer credit from one card to another, there are not much requirements. A mail account and social security number will suffice.

Due to the stiff competition credit card companies are offering free transfer of credit. If you are not able to pay back the loan within the grace period then transfer the amount to a new card and utilize the grace period of the new card. Ensure that you close the old account immediately.
